Two electrons that had never met
Michał wanted a brewery of his own. We did not know each other at all – he got in touch, we agreed on one project, and that was the start.
That one project was a label. Then a second, then more: Owsiane Wzgórze, Mgły Tropików, Wybrzeże and a long list after them. For the whole of our work together, every label on a Browar Gwarek can or bottle was ours.
A label gets one second on the shelf. Either someone reaches for it or their eye passes over it, and there is no second attempt.
Drawn, not assembled
Each one was made by hand – from the idea and the sketch, through the illustration, to a print-ready file. No templates and no stock photography. For a craft brewery that is not an indulgence: the whole category rests on every brew being its own thing, and the label has to carry that.
Then came the special editions – a separate series made for a retail chain partnership, and artwork for competitions run for fans. After that the brewery’s first merchandise: T-shirt designs that went into the permanent range.
How they looked next to the others
Gwarek’s first labels stood out clearly from what was on the neighbouring shelves at the time. In craft beer the shelf is crowded and everyone is fighting for the same pair of eyes, so whether a label stops you is not a matter of taste.
It was good work and a good time. It left a mark on the shelf.
Labels
Every brew got its own label within one coherent series – illustration, name and the layout of the information. Mgły Tropików, El Dorado, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, Simcoe, Talus and the rest.

Print preparation
The same label laid out flat: illustration, ingredients, producer details, barcode and the fields for the best-before date. A file that goes straight onto the press.

Special editions and merchandise
A series made for a retail chain partnership, artwork for competitions run for fans, and the brewery’s first T-shirt designs.
